This guitar not only sounds and plays amazing, but it has the best and most "authentic" looking aging I've ever seen on a modern guitar.    

 

Martin's proprietary vintage gloss lacquer creates a very thin finish that closely mimics the aging and checking that one would expect to find on an 85-year-old "real deal" pre-war Martin.  So straight from the factory, this particular guitar already had a beautiful patina and checking on the finish, but it didn't have the simulated play wear that you see on many of the Aged Authentics.  So, as you'll see in the photos, I meticulously and carefully added my own enhancements to make the Adirondack top appear more "authentically" aged.  I'm not one to brag or boast, but I will confidently say that this is the most "authentically aged Aged Authentic" I have ever seen.

This example is from the first year that Martin began building this model with Guatemalan rosewood in lieu of Madagascar.  I personally think the tone produced by this Guatemalan model has a depth and richness to it that more closely resembles the Brazilian rosewood pre-war originals.  The Madagascar (at least the examples I have played) tend to be a little more "glassy" sounding, whereas the Guatemalan has a more "woody" tone. 

 

You'll see that I also have a Madagascar variant of the Aged Authentic 1937.   When asked how they compare with one another, I like to say they are equal, but different.

Other than the enhanced aging I personally added, this guitar is in 99% MINT condition.  The neck, fretboard and frets are like new condition.  There are no scratches, dents, dings, or other damage whatsoever.

No electronics.  No strap button. 

 

End pin has not been installed but is included. 

 

All original tags and papers included.

Neck relief is .004" at the 6th / 7th frets. 

 

12th fret action measures .085" on the bass side and .062" on the treble side.  Low action, but no buzzing (unless you are strumming like Neil Young with a heavy pick).
